We link rehabilitated offenders to job placements and apprenticeships through partnerships with businesses and relevant organizations.
We work closely with social welfare agencies and partner with NGOs to identify needs, design impactful projects and ensure meaningful services that benefit both the community and offenders.
We lead neighborhood projects such as environmental clean-ups, tree planting, minor facility repairs , offer social support initiatives to the communities and promote positive change through offender’s service.
We provide trainings and advocacy campaigns on personal growth and civic responsibility.
We assist with court-mandated community service, offering easy registration, assignment guidance, and support to ensure you complete your obligations smoothly.
The Community Service Unit in Lagos manages non-custodial sentences, ensuring minor offenders contribute to society through activities like street cleaning and community farming. This promotes rehabilitation, reduces prison congestion, and encourages responsibility.
Offenders under the unit may clear roadside verges, assist in fire or police services, or support children’s centers. These tasks are designed to teach accountability and provide practical ways to give back to the community.
With 18 locations throughout Lagos, the unit closely supervises offenders to ensure community service is completed effectively. This oversight helps offenders learn from their experiences while fulfilling their obligations.
By involving offenders in tasks like sanitation and aiding nursing homes, the unit improves public spaces and fosters a stronger community. These efforts benefit residents and promote a sense of shared responsibility.
The unit offers offenders a chance to reflect and contribute to society through service. This rehabilitative approach aids reintegration, lowers reoffending rates, and helps individuals become productive community members.
